I recently purchased a Vitamix blender for one reason, to make green smoothies! I needed a new breakfast option, I was intrigued by the health benefits and I wanted the energy.
As I eagerly scoured the internet looking for the perfect green smoothie recipe to test out in my new blender, I stumbled upon a blog called What's Gaby Cooking. Her Green Machine Smoothie spoke to me. The ingredients were exactly what I was looking for in a powerful green smoothie.
I basically was trying to avoid making a smoothie that tastes like grass, let's face it, that is not how I want to start my mornings...
This smoothie provides an explosion of energy! When I drink this, the thought of caffeine doesn't even cross my mind. The best part, it is fast to prepare and you can use any fruit you have on hand. Try out these versions of Gaby's Green Machine Smoothie if you need a boost of energy!
Energy Boosting Green Smoothie
2 Bananas, cut into chunks
1 Orange, peeled and segmented
1 Apple, cored and cut into sections
1 c. Frozen Mango
1 Handful of spinach
1/2 c. Dole Paradise Blend Juice (Or favorite fruit juice)
1/4 c. Vanilla almond milk
1 Handful of ice
Place all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately and enjoy!
My other variations:
Substitute frozen mango with frozen pineapple
Substitute an orange with fresh mango
