Fresh produce is booming this time of year. Gardens are filled with vegetables, herbs and flowers. My current obsession is seasoning my meals with fresh herbs from my garden, which led me to get a little crazy creative with my burger toppings.
Since it is summertime what better reason do I have than to top my burgers with fresh, garden grown vegetables?
For anyone who has Celiac or is gluten intolerant, the idea of enjoying a piled high, tasty burger or a loaded deli sandwich is now lackluster. We have to enjoy our "sandwiches" and "burgers" bunless. Which in my opinion takes all the fun out of eating a sandwich!
Please tell me that you have introduced your taste buds to the wonderful world of avocado toast? While eating avocado toast, I feel as though the clouds have parted, bright rays of sunshine are beaming through and the angels begin to sing. This is no exaggeration. It is heavenly.
You may be thinking, why would I lather smashed avocado on my toast? Butter and jam work just fine for me!
